5 - 6: it's may tuesday
listening	ヨルシカ - あぶく (n-buna) - violence cw for the music video. really bouncy guitar, high energy, just a good listen. still in david bowie/kino/joy division/radiohead mode discovering car seat headrest, another band i had heard of and never really checked out. the ballad of the costa concordia; long ass song, very indie, smooth green tea. paul's theme (men i trust): i've seen this album art somewhere before. don't remember where. elevator music ++.
reading	nk jemison on describing characters of color, which was linked somewhere in response to stuff to do with: this sir cam review that i don't think is totally fair - definitely bad faith in some ways - but i liked reading it and shared some similar thoughts in my own read. it has generated some really stupid drama i think where people are in the author's tumblr ask box in a bad way so i do respect that this reviewer was like. listen. i just wanted to get my thoughts out. leave me out of it. struggling through wuthering heights. i think it's kinda boring unfortunately but i will finish it by sheer force of will
watching	went to the nearest real-ish city to see a showing of "our town" that my university theater mfa students put on - the rabbi's daughter was cast as young emily for the last act, and my friend brought her to it locally last week and so only saw the last act and went wait...i want to see this for real....so i tagged along with her to see it. it was good! i enjoyed it well enough. disco elysium iceberg video. it's long, not super groundbreaking, but enjoyable
playing	some slay the spire, some repo with friends
making	no pictures but i am sloooowly trial-and-erroring my way through repairing an old dress. the elastic in the back is completely toast from age and wear so i am ripping all those stitches out. will be adding another piece of fabric on the inside to act as channels instead of sewing elastic directly to the dress, both for future ease of replacement and also because i cannot be assed to buy elastic thread right now. still working on the ramekin stack; the largest/red one broke while i was underglazing the color in so i used it as a test dummy. turns out i definitely need to do a layer of white underglaze underneath the white because my studio's white is Not completely opaque. so. glad i figured that out. updates for the rest of the rainbow to follow. in the meantime - these ramekins are for a friend but he knows they're coming, so i decided to glaze up one of the sake vessels i threw at the end of last year as a surprise gift for him, it came out darling mother's day gift 90% complete!!!! i threw the lid quite small on purpose so i could glue cork to the inside rim for a more airtight seal, as she intends to store coffee grounds in this. lid is a little not-proportional for an acorn, and it might be a little small for coffee grounds purpose anyways, but whatever. go my acorn spoonrest to match my extant bowl and plate. the koi on this are a little more vibrant because i forgot to water down the underglaze, oops loon chopstick rest that is not actually functional as a chopstick rest due to sloped back. inspired by this tumblr post about the maine pottery tour, artist not linked though. let's see if this html works the way i think it does; gift for friend hope! hope, do not expand the little dropdown unless you desire spoilers :3 gift spoiler below she requested some sort of microwavable bowl object with a lid for microwaving her lunch at work! so i made a sweet lil crock, put some handles on the bowl part, and painted some flowers on the lid. it is ready for the bisque soon and should be done in time for her birthday :D
eating	riff on this smitten kitchen pasta thing; used penne and bacon instead of ditalini and salami, although i did later remember i had some salami in the freezer and crisped that up as a topping; used greek yog instead of heavy cream; it's like. fine. edible. a little too salty

5 - 12: sleepy
listening	single songs: song to sing when i'm lonely (john frusciante), untitled (interpol), full frontal (ashnikko) - this last one came up on a gym playlist and is really fun. good gym song. deadbeat (tame impala), fav track dracula new shriekcast!!! huge. they are now reading schlock written by authors that rose to fame due to being dramione fanfic writers. mostly I just like listening to liz and xeecee yap.
reading	learned about group jackrabbit killing during the dust bowl from my friend from kansas lol as per the listening section: read the whole fanfic that the new shriekcast series reading is allegedly based on so that I have context that the hosts will not. it wasn't good, which was the point.
watching	taskmaster s17 stuff. why is nick dressed as a vampire and many other such questions. finished watching the worricker trilogy movies/show/whatever it actually is with friend. it's so baffling. why are all these young brunettes obsessed with bill nighy's character. why do they all look suspiciously like his estranged daughter. why is christopher walken there. many questions.

making	some new objects; bowl, will be a mug, little vase for a friend old bowl that I am finally putting a design on - sunflower :)) I actually wrote this week? whoa??? writing????? crazy. so that's cooking
eating	made the nyt honey mushroom udon again, halved the recipe this time so I didn't have inordinate amount of leftovers

reading	wuthering heights still. trying to power through it. the book club is almost done. my goal is to finish it by the end of the month. a few tara knight substack pages - dump your puppygirl, Your Polycule Is Not a Revolution, The Transsexual Humiliation Cycle - the discourse du jour, both the articles and her as a person. i shan't weigh in my opinion. but i did read them. What It Was Like Growing Up in the Soviet Union; don't know why I read this one
watching	taskmaster s21...rewatched the first two eps of s19 with a friend to expose him to the medium...

making	started a short story. i shan't be pasting any of it in right now but it's cooking. working on backing up old tuesdayposts to neocities/html from tumblr. i have dec 2022, most of 2023, and then most of 2024 to do left. i figure if every week i back up one month's worth it'll go pretty fast. finished my wax melter!! now i just need to buy tea lights. the grocery store was sold out lol. yoinked the design on the back from this reddit post. sunflower :) gotta decide if i want to paint more of them on there...i have been convinced to add at least one more, probably two

5 - 26: another twoweeker
listening	new shriekcast AGAIN!!! huge! this book sounds so bad! trueanon ep 545 with rachel coster - really good, about crime and policing, the spector of racism/classism floating in the background but never explicitly stated as far as i remember
reading	almost done with wuthering heights...so close......i WILL finish by month's end first three chapters of blood meridian; unofficially book clubbing this one, this is baby's first cormac and i'm enjoying it so far. obviously he has a very unique style so the first chapter was an adjustment but smooth sailing from there. just finished chapter 3. re: last week, on the puppygirl question, apparently (mileva morgan) and the subsequent response the poverty of algorithmic feminism. again i have many thoughts that i largely won't get into but i think the way people just seem to not notice the sexual coersion aspect of this whole dynamic from the original posts is. troubling. it is also troubling that people seem really dedicated to reading vent posts from a trans woman in as uncharitable a light as possible (it was never literally about the dishes. it was about the trends around things Like the dishes.) in a way that does not seem to happen in other discourses. but also i do not know any of these people, it is none of my business, and i do not care to discuss it really.
watching	taskmaster - caught up with s21, jumped back and finished 17. boyfriend anime mondays; new witch hat episode, and then finished gunsmith cats finally. really goofy really silly but a good time.
playing	more slay the spire probably one of the last few in-person cube sessions that we will have </3 i know we will be playing online via cockatrice and online draft tools - and in fact may be more fun because it means we can play random fun cubes, like the ornithopter cube, without proxying the whole thing - but it's still sad, end of an era, etc
making	trying something new with my photo organization; moving things to folders on my phone by category. adding more sunflowers to that pot someone...threw their sponge in the clay reclaim....i know it was an accident but it jacked up the biggest most beautiful pot i have ever made. :\| did manage to make two slightly smaller less beautiful pots but i'm pissed started crocheting another market bag for a friend, this time in bright ass hot pink for her hashtag brand finishing up a digital painting of my dog who passed a few weeks ago ... gonna get it printed out nice and bring it home as a late mother's day gift (and probably one for my brother as well)
eating	bratwurst pasta recipe; had some farmers market brats in the freezer since like november and finally cracked those out for this. really yummy! i didn't have crushed tomatoes with garlic and onion, but i did have normal crushed tomatoes, some cherry tomatoes that needed using, onion, and garlic, so i made do with that. definitely undercooked the onions but whatever. i don't know why i don't use cream cheese for stuff like this more, i'm not big on heavy cream - i don't use it often enough so i hate buying it for one (1) recipe and then it goes bad - but cream cheese has other uses and therefore does not languish in my fridge, and works just as well to make things creamy. also cutting up the onion got my finger in the crossfire. thank you liquid bandaid. baked a loaf of bread....my yeast is definitely. well. okay it's not like, turbo dead. it's probably like 75% dead. alas. but the bread is still edible thank god. i think i am going to stop buying bread and just have an easy loaf going every other weekend or so. i also will be acquiring starter from a friend i think. this was the bread recipe i used, idk why i didn't just use the king arthur one. whatever it was fine
misc	thinking about the tulip poplar. i kept seeing petals on the ground and finally reverse image searched it. very charmed by her. she might make it on some pottery.
