- the creativity lab thing in my school's library has a riso printer so i took a workshop on how to use it! they did it by having us all make different collage layers and then we printed them on top of each other. very cool. mine is the gold/brownish layer.

- made this potato leek soup. boyfriend made me her greek lemon chicken soup when i was sick and that was a banger, this one is also a banger. 10/10. i have portions in my freezer. behold: bowl of mush (i did make the bowl)
- honey glazed mushroom udon. thank you B. this one is a banger. wanted some more protein so this is really good with a fried egg on top.
- napa cabbage + thin shaved beef + fun mushrooms. layer the beef and cabbage, slice into ~1 in strips, layer in a cooking pot. put mushrooms in the middle. add 1-2 cups of broth (i just did water plus a little dashi and soy sauce). bring to boil. make your favorite dipping sauce and eat it when meat is cooked.

- superbowllll :) the host of the party i went to this year is a nuclear engineer and. well. his special interest sure is nuclear stuff. he has a room so full of uranium that the geiger counter (yes. he has one of those. for fun) just beeps the whole damn time it's on so that's cool. also a full set of the radioactive fiestaware, loads of uranium glass, etc. in general it was a beautiful home as well, very mid century modern, peak Wow Imagine Having A Real Job for me.

- i forgot how big a difference working with fresh clay makes. the studio i work with only has a professional recycling machine for red clay so all the white clay is hand-reclaimed and. hm. it's bad. anyways i threw some beautiful bowls from a fresh block of clay. i may have to switch to being a red-clay girlie, or maybe buy my own fresh white clay. not pictured is the failed watercolor palette i attempted.

- the animal game! my best score rn is 293
- fucked up conspiracy cube. friend took a normal vintage cube full of banned cards and added the conspiracy packs to it. i built a killer deck but unfortunately my friends are too juiced so i didn't do super well but had a lot of fun. drafted sovereign's realm conspiracy (can play basic lands from outside the game if i exile a card from my hand, and basic lands can be tapped for any color; deck cannot have basic lands in it and i can only have a 5 card hand) and had a few play-multiple-lands-per-turn cards but the best one was fastbond (can play as many lands as i want, with each land after the first per turn pinging me for 1). this also combo'd with creation omnath. i did shoot off the Ideal play exactly once: omnath and fastbond in-hand (and atraxa but that was just bonus). turn 1 exile chump card from hand for one basic land. play fastbond. immediately ping myself for 11 health to put out 11 more basic lands and play omnath and atraxa. theoretically the next round i would have put out infinite lands after exiling one chump card because omnath heals for 4 per land so i would have been up 3 health for each land played. did not make it to round 2 though because my friend insta conceded which: fair. so that was really fun. did get my ass otherwise handed to me by removal though.

- easy soba noodle soup, I used baby bok choy instead of the greens they recommend. it was fine. marinated some eggs in soy sauce/water/mirin and those are the real stars of this show. stir fried bok choy also just never goes wrong.
- miso baked cod: baked it for 10 minutes. it was raw. put it in for 10 more. it was still basically raw ??? five more and it was overcooked. fml. not bad marinade-wise but i fcked up the cod

- i'm back in a last podcast on the left era. listened to the murdaugh murder episodes and have been keeping up with the dupont episodes as they release. man dot horse dog png

- trimmed the stuff from last week
- i have cracked the code for pottery. so i learned that the studio only has a reclaim machine for the red clay and that the white clay is hand-reclaimed. which is fine! but i have noticed a real and material difference in using reclaim white vs red on the wheel. so i have switched to only using white clay when there's a fresh block and using red otherwise and holy moly, huge difference. made the pieces to assemble into a wax melter and a jar/lid combo for my mom's coffee grounds. both need significant post-wheel building/trimming/carving before the vision will come together.

- made my classic chickpea curry thing that i've been making since like 2020 as a quick easy slop meal. this time i used home-roasted pumpkin instead of canned (my friend processed a huge pumpkin in the fall and i've had some leftover in the freezer for ages that i decided to use up) and oh man it was SO much tastier than the canned. so i the future i will either replace the pumpkin with something home-roasted (be that pumpkin or a different squash) or invest in the Good canned pumpkin.
