- did the influencer bean soup recipe from last year for my mom except. well. so my brother could not find lima beans OR dill at the store. so I used navy beans and parsley instead. this is not as good. found some random ranch seasoning in the cupboard and that had dill in it which thankfully zinged the whole thing back up. dill definitely a requirement for this imo.
- tried this coconut shrimp recipe but uh. well. it was. so my brother bought pre-cooked fully-shelled (so no tails) small shrimp instead of tail-on raw jumbo shrimp. so. this was. a bit of a weird experiment. where I kind of just tossed whole handfuls of shrimp into the dredge/egg at a time, put it on a baking tray, and then covered the whole thing with coconut shavings. it was. fine! it was edible thank god. but if I make it again it will certainly not be like that.

- lumpia night! bf and best friend had a filipino themed night, so they made So many lumpia, as well as a shrimp-paste salad with ripe/unripe mango, tomatoes, onion, etc., and halo halo for dessert :3
- I GOT A BAD COLD...so I am little prince moding it....boyfriend made avgolemono soup and it did heal me
- delightful little charcuterie tray involving cod liver and trout pate

- did gift exchange with my best friend and her husband and my boyfriend :) they got him an otomotome lol. he is ready to be a menace. and they got me a delightful dcuk and she hand-made a set of seasonal outfits for it !!!

- Metal’s Stadium Class Is Less Metal Than Ever: i won't lie, I laughed at "Korn will continue to release the same song every three years for eternity". some of these will end up on next week's listening section probably. interesting observations about the development and evolution of metal as a genre.

- finally read 17776!!! saw a tumblr post about how the date where "people stopped aging" is coming up and I was like. what. I thought that was about future football. and it is! but more. I can't believe it took me this long to read it. I assumed it was wayyy longer than it actually was so I read it all in one sitting. really enjoyed it.

- friend fed me chicken marsala. classic yum
- made the pepper steak stir fry as described here by my friend celestialtourguide! I had to sub in red+orange bell pepper instead of green because the store was out in the pre-snowstorm rush. (sidebar: I wanted to make potato leek soup over the snowy weekend but I guess every schmuck had the same idea because the store was SOLD OUT of leeks. what. why.) I also added minced garlic to the sauce because my soul feels like a stir fry Has to have garlic, and garnished with scallions and cilantro! I always forget you can buy a big slab of meat and just. cut it into smaller cubes to cook. so I got a slab of sirloin for this and just cut into small pieces. likewise, the pork curry my boyfriend made two weeks ago, he cut up the cutlet into smaller pieces. I have to remember this is an option lol
- on the snow day I made a big pot of veggie broth using my freezer scraps and baked a zucchini bread! made the latter with coconut oil and threw in some coconut shreds so it is a very coconut-forward loaf but came out yummy
